About The Melodies
![]() Miss Jeannine (Proulx) is the creator of The Melodies! At a young age, Miss Jeannine would go singing around the house all day long. She is well known for her choruses in "My brother hit me and I don't like him anymore." as well as "Nobody loves me, everybody hates me, except my Preschool Teacher." But also penned such other little known greats as "Winter. Winter. Winter don't leave me, oh, please, oh, please." (Which once the snow days off from school ended was promptly followed by the sequel "Winter, it's time you leave now, yes, oh, yes, it is time you leave.. NOW! -That one almost made it to Grammy status if Frozen hadn't beaten her out.) She obviously loves to sing, but loves to write more. So when the ideas for songs to help the kids she loves and has worked with for a lifetime: preschoolers came about, she jumped at it. With the help of her Grammy award winning composer and Jazz Musician brother, John Proulx, (whose children have listened to The Melodies so much it is possible he will be humming Walk Like the Elephant into his old age) the little ditties of songs that Jeannine sung got turned into honest to goodness real music. And that is when The Melodies was born. Since then it has been a wild ride of trips to LA, events with the Agape Youth, Cosmikids and now onwards with NTEC, the New Thought Education Consortium, and her loving coach Judy Julin who has been a shining light of a mirror to Miss Jeannine since the beginning when she dragged her brother and his keyboard down to the Tarzana Cosmikids location to play the songs they had just finished writing the night before live before Judy and her staff. It has been a ride. The ride now continues with The Melodies in Motion, Yoga and Dance inspired movements for the songs and the newest creation The Melody Method, a Preschool Master Class Curriculum to bring The Melodies lessons to day cares and Pre-schools. *NOW AVAILABLE FOR ALL SCHOOLS no charge! Because we all could use a little harmony these days! Thanks to the teachers for doing all you do! The ride continues, or as one would say who has experienced a Melody Moment: Here we go! 🎵 |
